i currently have a gtx 1060 6b with a ryzen 3 1200 cpu, i'm looking to upgrade my cpu and I was thinking of grabbing the ryzen 5 2600x, does anyone have this motherboard and anything to say on it?

just wondering if i will notice a difference between the two boards, because it seems like the ryzen 3 seems kind of sluggish with windows tasks and most newer games.

any other bang for your buck suggestions for under $350?

We need to know which motherboard you have... you told us the video card and the CPU only. A 2600x will most probably work in w/e motherboard you have, but best to check, just to be sure the motherboard you have will handle a 95w CPU.

It "looks" like you could get away with a 1700x or 1800x, without having to change the motherboard.

The problem is, that DELL may not use standard motherboard... sizes, so you may need a case too.

/ee There are a few cheaper motherboards, but they might require a BIOS update.

Found a slightly cheaper case... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4wbVvn

Well, there are tons of cheaper cases, but this is a cheaper, good case. :)

/eee What is the exact Dell computer you have? Dell 5675?

looks like the 2600 might be better then the 2600x since it looks like there is very small differences and a little bit cheaper.

probably going to pick up that combo, thanks :)

The 2600 is definitely cheaper. Here, with the cheaper case..

Yeah with this combo, you won't need to flash the BIOS, and things will be a lot faster. I feel safer with the new case as DELL has been known to use proprietory sized parts.
I hate to have you order a new motherboard and find out that it somehow doesn't fit in the DELL case.

Here is some reading about the CPU compatibility with your Dell motherboard.

Unless you really need something now, I'd recommend waiting a couple months until we see what AMD has uo their sleeve.
