Hi, a friend and I recently moved to a new city and curiosity led us to discover there is ZERO competition in the local area for Craigslist/FB marketplace etc custom PC builds. The town consists of about 170k people plus a university of 20k full time students, with a metro area of about 50-100k more people. Average income is high but not exceptionally so, but the university is public.
We're both knowledgeable enough to know how to compile good parts lists at any budget and do the builds in a reasonably neat and attractive fashion. But I do have some questions about some specifics. First, how important is RGB vs just standard single-color LEDs? Some cheaper builds can be done for even less by using blue or red LEDs instead of RGB. Second, do people generally want peripherals with these machines, such as mouse/keyboard/maybe monitor? It wouldn't be expensive to get some tacky gaming keyboards and mice but still, in the sub-$600 range those things add up. Third, how important is form factor? We could do some ultra-compact builds but they might be more expensive to maintain flashy appearances. Fourth, for anyone in the know, how do the markets for high end builds (component value $1200+) vs medium builds (component value $800+) vs budget builds (lower than 600 usually) compare in most places?
Thanks for the advice.
