I made this last night for a friend. He will use it for work, school, and games.

Programs/Games to be used:

CSGO
PUBG
R6 Siege

Microsoft office products
A few programs unknown to me, but meant for accounting, maybe quikbooks or something?

He wanted to stay under $1k, but I thought it was a little difficult.
I wanted to keep it intel cause that is what I like, but is it worth going AMD to save a few bucks?

The wireless keyboard mouse and 2 monitors is a must too.

AMD much better value unless you're going for high end max framez at 1080p (like 200+).
Freesync monitors because they're just worth it. He could also look into Ultrawide monitors if he just needs the screen space for work (you don't have that pesky bezel 50% of the way through your screen).
AMD will actually destroy Intel and any price point when it comes to heavy number crunching (if your friend deals with any of that).
More RAM and an SSD will make the system much snappier to use.
Case is overall better for the same price. (even in looks IMO)
850w is just way overkill for a low-mid range system. 550w is still double the TDP for the whole system I have selected.

sweet, that looks good.

i had an issue with a previous build, chose a friends psu off of their estimated power use.. it said 450, i bought a 550 and it wouldn't work til i swapped it for a 750.

that 550 psu worked in another build though, which confused me.

appreciate the build, i'm going to forward it along and hope he chooses yours instead

/e** i may swap the ssd for the hdd though.. he needs at least 1TB he said, but i have a feeling he is over estimating his needs

In this day and age SSD for boot and app drive is almost a necessity, it make's booting up and loading apps orders of magnitude faster.
If he needs the extra storage, just add a secondary mechanical drive and map all your document folders to it (so when you save and download stuff, it'll take up space on the mechanical drive).
Here's a quick how-to, just to prove it's incredibly easy: https://www.pcworld.com/article/2079571/move-your-libraries-to-a-second-drive-or-partition.html

Thank you, he ended up going with the crappier of the two monitors and got everything else from your list! Hope it all works out well.

Only thing I'm worried about is the microatx mobo at this point. I've only used one micro board before and it was a little difficult to work with

I mean you can use any mobo from the list, they will all perform similar enough. I have a pro4 from asrock and like it.
