8 is enough, but 16 is ideal and you easily have the budget for it so you should get 16. Less fuss down the road to add an identical ram to upgrade when you feel that you need it.

check out corsair's ML120/140 fan, much more nice than the AF/SP's.
you can further cut cost in my build but with 1.2k budget ull still have a lot of room left over

if ur willing to pay for that mobo, and maximize to 1.2k budget u should just get the 8700k.
gpu back down to 1060, since you're mainly playing poe. All you need to upgrade in the future would be the GPU/cooler if u wanted.
also seems like ur looking for white/black build

well it's worth getting 1070ti over 1060 for sure, but it's overkill especially for PoE and if ur on 1080p monitor.
The thing is, GPU's come out almost every year with something more efficient and nice. Also easy to install them compared to a CPU. (no need new mobo, take off cooler, etc.etc.) vs (uninstall current gpu driver, unplug, plug new, install new gpu driver)
If u went overkill with the 8700k now, u just need to upgrade gpu down the road if u end up even needing to. Whereas if u went with 8400 + 1070ti now, u will still be getting a new gpu to replace the 1070ti down the road, but ur stuck with 8400 instead of the 8700k. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but why not have the best for years to come than be stuck with almost the best u know? Or if 1070ti suffice, u will end up upgrading the CPU, but in most cases ull need a new socket, so a new motherboard etc. almost not worth the upgrade for the cost you end up paying for.

either choice u make, wont have problems playing poe though which is ur main goal

GFX card is overkill, but will last a long time and do anything short of 4k 120hz. If you wanna save some money, you could downgrade. to a 1070/ti. Also, hi from Mankato :bouncy:

8 is more than enough for PoE but the thing is PoE memory leak gets annoying af in long, long, LONG sessions. Day 1 when I had 8gb of ram I usually had to restart at around act 9 because poe is eating over 6gb and starting to lag due to pagefile kicking in.

so 16 is ideal
