So Im looking to build a new pc because mine just isnt right anymore

Main purpose is music production and then If I can game aswell thats a plus for sure but main is music production

After lot of search online music related, it MUST be intel i7-8700k cpu
No ryzen or whatever because of the fastest single core speed of intel apparently and I dont mind the extra dollar

So I dont really have a budget but I guess 2 thousand would be it unless you have some crazy ideas that would be worth it to go over 2 thousand

Planned time till purchase: as soon as possible
Ill arleady have window 10
Ill put a wireless card to link my pc to my smart tv with a subwoofer
Ill add an external soundcard so the internal soundcard can be whatever
Dont plan on overclocking, I dont even know what it is lol
Dont need any keyboard or mouse or monitors BUT I plan to use dual monitors
Im from montreal/quebec/canada for shipping
For the case I prefer having a silent casing over a flashy led RGB case with lots of noise/poor fan

So far thats the build a friend sent me

Let me know any recommandation tips advice anything

nice build =) did u get it?

friend of mine is also building a pc for music, and he decided to go with the 8700 non k version as turbo speed is about the same and he doesnt want to OC

also he told me he is going for 32gb ram as its good for having alot of stuff going on at once in the music program, and he is going for a full ATX board as he might need thunderbolt and more PCI slots for music stuff

I recommend fractal design case

Yes, the ram is in there twice intentionally. It's cheaper than using the same filter but for 32 gb, but I would highly recommend going with 32, will be really nice so you aren't page filing while working.
If you're serious enough to pay more for an 8700k because of "performance benefits", you should do some reading on overclocking. That can get you as high as a 15-20% increase in real world performance as long as your system can handle it (the one I linked can)
Not sure what you were planning on gaming, but the cards I chose will do well at 1080p, okay at 1440p on lower spec games. If you're into VR/4k, or high refresh rate on poorly optimized games, you might have to go for a 1070.
Linked a couple pretty nice wifi adapters (newest standard, PCI based for better bandwidth). I personally have the gigabyte one and love it.
Case is all preference, the ones in the selection are fairly popular ones that can accommodate a 240 radiator with good build quality and decent airflow (won't need more if you're not running high end graphics setups)

*As long as you're using a well optimized editing program, the extra cores of Ryzen make up for the difference in clock speed from Intel. The AMD chips also cool better due to being soldered instead of using a paste for heat dissipation.

Similar build with a Ryzen chip just in case you decide to explore other options.
