Budget: $1200 USD
More specific use (what games, what programs): Streaming PUBG
Planned time until purchase: 2 weeks
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: No
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: I can teach him overclock, but the budget seems restrictive enough.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Yes to all
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): US Online

this one's for an irl friend. he's an xboxer moving onto his first pc, with aspirations of streaming on twitch.

he wants two monitors, i'd like to get him a modest ssd so he feels fast, and everything else is open-ended; i was hoping that i could scratch something together with a new ryzen but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen given the budget; the closest i've gotten was pairing like a 1600 with a 1060 6gb, but i wasn't able to get that to work either.

R5 2600/1060 6gb: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Wc2z7W - $1260 @ time of posting
Buy a windows 10 key on kinguin or ebay, you'll save few bucks.

Mouse, keyboard, and case are all personal preference, I just linked some ones I think are decent. Have your friend go through and pick what he likes.
If he really has to stay under $1200, only grab 1 monitor for now, and another one later.

yea ryzen 2600 + 1060 would probably be a good choice, but i would prefer an intel when it comes to pubg..

intel build with windows 10 and 144hz 1ms monitor: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MJYBcY - i have similar to this, runs pubg very well

also for streaming pubg i would recommend a second pc for streaming, if pubg crashes his pc might need a restart and that sucks if he is streaming..
this way pubg will also run better and his stream will be better aswell, streaming pc doesnt have to be anything good and it might not even need a graphics card..

An 8400 won't be able to handle pubg and streaming. A second computer would be nice, but then you need to spend more on a second cpu, mobo, ram, psu, and case. Even at the low end, that's gonna be 400. And THEN you have to get a capture card to stream from a separate PC anyways.
At this price point, it really isn't practical to do anything else. Also, 144hz will be hard to achieve with a 1060 unless he's playing on low settings.

like i said i have similar setup to this, and i tryed streaming once useing geforce experience shadowplay, no problem at all.. but ofc it depends on ur stream quality and what program u use

i dident say go buy 2 pc's, but if u allready have one or u can get another second hand, it might be a good idea cuz it will improve stream quality and game preformence

144hz is still gonna be better even if u dont have constant 144fps, and with a setup like this he will have decent fps even on medium settings (would say 60-120) - so why be bottlenecked by 60hz...?

and incase u dident know, most people actually play on low settings to get better fps - especially streamers

I'd also recommend 8400 over 1600 even for streaming pubg, especially on a 144hz monitor. Min frame rates >>>>

Do you have a link to a real benchmark of a game and streaming while monitoring fps?
Something that uses identical hardware but only the cpu is different?

Not saying you are incorrect just wanna see the method they used and actually real world results of the 8400 up to the 1600.
