Looking to upgrade my CPU/motherboard since my current one isn't going that great.

I'm looking at getting

~$450 cad after rebate does anyone have an suggestions as to a better setup around the same price range?

I'm choosing this setup because of the one touch overclocking from the MOBO.

you will most likely need new ram as well, ddr4. hard to help you without knowing what you currently have.
the motherboard is overkill, and if your reason is to use the 1 touch overclocking, it won't do you much with a 8400. You're better off manually ocing anyway, as 1touch OC isn't reliable since there are a lot of variables.

This.

What's your current system look like? You could just have software or file corruption slowing you down.
That mobo is overkill, especially since the 8400 is a locked processor.

What CPU would you suggest in the i5 range to bring it up to par with the mobo?
(I was told an i5 is really all I will need for gaming) is this your opinion as well?

Do you think the cooling system will be required?

My current issue is when i'm trying to run something like runescape and hearthstone or overwatch at the same time my CPU will be maxed at 99%

If you intend to overclock, then yes. The 8000 series run hot as it is.

Cheap option. Will get you by for a couple years if that's just your goal.

More expensive. Will perform significantly better and last several times longer.

^ gotta be from canada

Either 8600k cpu or 8400 with basic mobo. With ur budget, ur better off with the 8400 and non overkill board

You can always just change the country from the drop down in the top. I use parametrics partially for this reason (and adds accuracy over time)
