Hey guys,

I just recently purchased a laptop for uni (and some light gaming when I have time) to replace my old 5 year veteran, and with the money I've saved from deals I'm looking to get a good monitor to plug it into when working from my desk at home.

(before anyone even tries to say something like "BUT WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST BUILD A TOWER AND GET A CHEAP NOTEBOOK FOR SCHOOL", I'd like you all to know that the work I will need to do at school is also resource intensive so I just spent the money on a good laptop and no desktop)

TL;DR I got a Razer Blade 14 with the GTX 1060, looking for a good monitor for when I'll be at my desk using it. I don't really play any AAA games, as a matter of fact I don't really game much at all anymore, but still looking for a good monitor if I get the chance to game.
Don't think a 144Hz monitor is a good suit here, and it probably doesn't even fit my budget lol.

Budget: ideally $150 CAD or below
Looking for recommendations and sweet deals!

Thanks fellas

but thanks for the comment ;) I need a good GPU. I did say I didn't play games much anymore but that's mostly because I don't have the time...

I'm not SUPER firm on the 150 CAD budget. Could be closer to 200 if ever it's really worth it, was more or less to give you guys an idea.

E/ also regarding the bestbuy deal on the acer monitor, it's sold out online and I don't have time to go to the nearest bestbuy today :(

Ouhh sweet. Top contender so far. Gonna wait a bit but I'm not quite sure how much better I can get, and this fits my budget really well.

E/ damn no HDMI port though. Never had to use an HDMI-DVI adapter but I'm assuming that shouldn't cause any problems/delays even if I were to game?

DVI can still handle 1080p60hz just fine for gaming (pretty sure it can handle a lot more than that). HDMI is just more compact which is why it's preferred in this age (DVI is older).

I'm not worried about the DVI itself, I guess I should have mentioned that my laptop only has an HDMI port. That's why I asked about the efficiency of the HDMI adapters :)

That's what I assumed (haven't seen a laptop with dvi in a decade). Shouldn't be any loss in quality.
