Currently have one from 2010... 256mb graphic card..eek!
This will be my first from-scratch build.

Budget:
Maximum you will spend? - 1300-1500 CDN
Will you complete mail in rebates? - sure
If so, may we go over-budget if rebates bring you within budget? - sure
Do you need Windows Operation System within budget? - Yes
Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard within budget? - No

Basic Info:
Specific Uses (Programs, game titles etc.) - Photoshop, InDesign, Sc1/2 D2, CS:GO, WoW - and any future games... pubg would be fun to try maybe
Country? - Canada
Will you travel to NCIX (canada) or Microcenter (USA) for parts? (Null if unsure) -

How much hard drive space do you want or need? - 1 TB
Will you use wireless or wired internet? - Both
Will you overclock CPU and/or GPU? - No, never.
Any special requests or useful things to tell us? (Specific case, need lots of storage, audio etc.) - I would like an SSD card

Will handle 1080p 60fps no problem, 1440p 60fps will work, might have to lower a couple settings in some games.
Since you mention Photoshop, if you have a 4k monitor, I would recommend getting a 1070 instead of the 1060 for GFX to take full advantage of 4k.
Not sure how big of a SSD you wanted, so just selected a list of good ones in the ~250gb range, pretty standard for an OS and a handful of applications.
I would look around online for a windows key, places like kinquin have keys for significantly less than somewhere like Amazon will.

Thanks for your time.

My screen is 1920X1080, so seems fine. Would a 1070 be overkill at the moment? Are prices still retarded?

250gb seems fine? I would install the OS on that, chrome and a few other programs likely. Do games run ok off a SSD?

You did come in under budget - anything worth upgrading right now? If I were to upgrade this in ~5 years, what would I require, processor and graphics card?

Thanks. Looks like bit of branding and gold vs bronze. I may be opted for this one... this is all before 13% tax tho.. hmm.

I am curious what the diff is between all the GTX 1060s? Mini vs Rag something..

If you're going to do some serious gaming, get the big one. I didn't even look at the vid card. I just assumed it was a big one. Here...

/e It's not JUST branding. Samsung makes the best SSD, Seasonic the best psu's etc.

$40 more for the 'big' one, no brainer. Lol - thank you.

I haven't got a new game to play once SC1 and D2 eventually die off completely, but this may be the rig to push me into newer games.

Thanks for your time.

And why would that be? The 1600 supports up to 2666Mhz.
We all know that the freq. doesn't really matter in gaming. Especially between 2400Mhz and 2666Mhz.

/e And it's tested compatible by Gskill, which only offers 2133, and 2400, for that motherboard.

1070 would be overkill at 1080p 60 fps. Yes prices are still inflated, not going to go away any time soon tho.
250 is fine as long as you aren't storing your documents and stuff on there, use the mechanical disk for that. Games and applications in general run significantly better on a SSD because of the incredibly faster read times.
The 1600 will be fine for gaming for a while as long as you aren't going for over 100 fps. If you do any workload stuff (media editing, streaming, etc) you could upgrade to an R7 for the additional cores, otherwise upgrade the board to an x370 and get a aftermarket cooler and push some nice overclocks on the 1600.
The 1060 is not a full board card, and doesn't use enough power to warrant spending an extra $40 on a second fan for the card imo. As long as you have good case temps in general, you won't have an overheating issue.
The hardware in this system, even pushed hard, should never use more than that PSU can put out.
IMO, if you wanna spend more money, look into a nicer mouse/keyboard/headset if you don't have them yet. It may not net a performance improvement on you're games part, but it can make it more entertaining to play those games.
