i5-3570k - cpu

Looking to upgrade the cpu and if possible keep the mobo and/or the ram. Would like best deal for money, willing to spend up to 400$ for a new mobo/ram/cpu if just cpu then about 200-250$

Looking to buy at anytime. This is to upgrade an already complete gaming build so i dont need anything else. Zip code for shipping is 60563 have newegg/amazon prime accounts if possible newegg is preferred vendor.

any questions please either post or PM. Thanks

gpu is a 970. If a mobo comes with a good overclock program would be ideal. Will have liquid cooling for cpu for overclocking.

Edit: if 16gb of ram makes this over budget more than willing to settle for 8gb till more funds are available for another 8

Mow a lawn or shovel a driveway for the extra 30 bucks, will be worth it.

400 isn't enough for a intel cpu/mobo/ram
if you're planning to OC, the minimum board i'd recommend is the asus prime -a board

or u can just get a decent board with a non k chip

can also spend $5 more for the red led msi gaming plus board to match with the red ram

Most of the poor reviews were from launch about a year ago. There was a lot of bugs and compatibility issue, but they have been ironed out now. Any mid-range or better board will treat you just fine with Ryzen.

what games are you playing

zen isnt that much of an upgrade from ivy you be gaining alot in multithreaded but not much in single threaded all depends on the typical games you play

which games do you typically play?

and you are so close to zen+ i'd wait it out and push your cpu to 4.8 or higher if you can

plus gives you time to save little more if you can
