Recently received a computer from a friend's brother. Build is a few years old. Mainly wanting to know if it would be worth it to upgrade video cards, motherboard, processor, and RAM. Unfortunately since it's older upgrading processor would also require MOBO and RAM, making it a bit pricy.

AMD Phenom 1090T 3.3GHz, 6 core Aftermarket cooler. I know he's into gaming, overclocking, etc. etc. so I assume it's sufficient
Mobo - Unsure
16GB 2133MHz RAM
2x AMD Radeon HD 7800 2GB GDDR5 860MHz in Crossfire
1Tb 7200RPM HDD
Monitor - Garbage cheap 60Hz monitor

CM Storm Scout Case
PSU - 750W Cooler Master

Windows 10 Pro.

So basically I know I need to upgrade my monitor and buy a Solid State Drive, but if I upgrade the SSD I'd like to make a decision on upgrading the Mobo/Processor since M.2 drives are available now.

My question is, what do you think I should upgrade as far as mobo, processor, RAM, and graphics card.

No set budget, but my wife and I want it to last through at least the next four years playing new games.

I'm also VERY interested in Star Citizen and don't really know what it is expected to take to play once it's done in development.

My previous budget was $1500 for a full computer, but I'd prefer not spending that much on upgrades for this one.

It's all pretty old hardware, but just play a couple of the games you like and then decide if you need it upgraded. Mess with settings, and if you prefer the higher settings but it doesn't run well, then time for upgrades. If you just play games like league of legends, overwatch, etc you probably don't need to upgrade anything.

Did a little bit of benchmarking. If I want to play anything new at decent settings I'll definitely need to upgrade.

Turns out the only things I can really use are the case and power supply, so I'm probably going to order new parts here soon.

Ordered a refurbished monitor last night. I know it's risky, but it seemed like a really good deal all things considered.

I could have told you that. I wouldn't even keep the case (excessive drive bays, no usb 3.0, etc.
