you will not need half of what i have in my gaming/server/production computer, but to let you know, with everything i have in it, i still hit occasional bottlenecks in pro tools. ive only ever bottlenecked in FL studio once, when i had over 140 threads running.

my rig has cost me almost 9 grand over the past 2 years...

and as a heads up.. you need a minimum of 32gb of ram for pro tools

my current rig: (to get an idea of what you need) https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Canadian_Born/saved/rb6J7P

honestly.. IMO save for the ryzen threadripper, minimum 64gb of ram and liquid cooling. ~> https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/kVmbNN

not trying to brag, just stating the facts.. if this person is serious about production, then they will need to drop some cash on reliable and good gear.

i run 32gb right now, and i am saving to upgrade to 64.. i run into bottlenecks with JUST meeting the reccomended requirements for ram. thus why i am suggesting for this person to save (if they are serious about production) for the 64gb. 32 would suffice, but to ensure no bottlenecks on larger scores, 64 or more would help dramatically.
