Christmas came early with a surprise bonus from work. i have approximately 8 grand CAD to play with in total, and would like to build a new home server/gaming rig for myself, even though i dont think its really necessary.

im open to opinions/different options, but this is what ive come up with thus far.

this is my current server/gaming rig:

should i upgrade? or would it just be a waste of money at this time? :\ i mean.. my current rig runs great. its moreso just a want, not a need pertaining to the upgrade...

just in case anyone wanted to post a different build/options.

Location: Ontario Canada
Price Limit: lets say $8k
Overclocking ability: YES ( as i have my current fx9590 oc'd to 5.5ghz stable)
multiple monitors: possibly in the future; 3 monitors @ 24-27" 4k compatible
types of programs i use: cubase, pinnacle, FL studio, photoshop, corel, adobe suite
Games: ladder slasher, hellgate london, d2, LoL, Poe, PubG
Storage: main has to be a ssd/m.2 500gb is fine ( i pagefile on a 250gb partition on a mechanical drive)
Storage pt.2: minimum 18tb ( i currently have 20tb of media files ( music, movies)

purchace window: undecided at this time

Upgrade the CPU and Motherboard on your current rig sir. That would be my suggestion. :D ;) XD

If you see any bottlenecks in single core performance (very easy to spot by having task manager w/ per-logical-core utilization tab open on second monitor), upgrade your mobo + CPU + RAM.

Otherwise, no need to upgrade anything except for the sake of vanity.

if i were to upgrade.. its still a couple grand.. however i think you are right.. there really isnt a need to upgrade.. i havnent seena bottleneck yet with my current rig.

if i were to upgrade i would need a new case as my current doesnt support the EATX mobo. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/8r7kCy

e/ case HAS to have a sata hot-swap accessable port built into it.
