I replaced the noisy stock fan on my computer with a new one. Unfortunately, now that I have plugged everything back in, the screen doesn't show up with anything when I turn it on. It was working immediately prior to replacing it so I must have messed something up.

I've tested the monitor with my other computer and the monitor/cables are fine.
I've checked that all internal plugs are firmly pushed in.
I photographed each plug that I removed when changing the fan and worked backwards through my photos plugging them back in. It's possible I missed something but I hope that is unlikely.

I've opened up the side and everything appears to be working from the surface. Which is to say that the fans on the GPU and cooler are working when the power is on.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I take it to a technician tomorrow?

Any pics?
Which cooler did you install? Did you have to remove the cpu at all? (hopefully no bent pins)
Did you have to remove the gpu/ram at all? (Maybe they're loose or in the wrong slots) (or forgot to plug all power plugs of the gpu like 6+2 pin or something)
Did you make sure to plug new cooler into CPU_FAN and not CHA_FAN? (this doesnt really cause issues other than not being able to control/monitor fan, but who knows)
Does your mobo have onboard video? maybe it reset to it for some reason, if so try the mobo's display port as well
Make sure the additional 4/8 pin power plug next to the cpu is plugged in as well, sometimes big coolers can obscure it and you forget about it

I dunno, if everything is in order the only other thing I could think about is a possible short, but you would probably smell something if so.

I'm happy to upload pics of anything you want to see.
Just let me know what.

I installed hyper 212x onto an AND Fx 8320.
The CPU did come out as I removed the stock fan. No pins appeared bent when I looked at it from various angles and it slotted back into place fine after I cleaned the top with ISO.

I removed the GPU and the single stick of RAM so that I would have a clearer space to work with. I put the GPU back in the same slot. I put the ram in the second slot though since it wouldn't fit in the previous one with the 212 in place.

There were no foreign smells.

It may well be the 4/8 or 6+2 power connectors. I'll double check after I make dinner. If it were that one of these was unplugged, would the fans still be working as they are?

Please let me know what images may be helpful.

Edit
Both of the listed connectors appear to be in firmly.

Yeah if you forgot any of those mentioned pins it will turn on but probably stop booting. Hardware such as fans/lights will still run.
If you check those and still don't resolve take some pics like this:
http://www.corsair.com/~/media/corsair/product%20photos/cases/carbide-series/spec-01/large/spec01_built_side_view_opened.png
Close in on each corner of the mobo if you can. You'll likely need a flashlight so it won't come out blurry.
Rear view of case would help too

That cooler is huge so it might block most of the image lol. What about your motherboard model? just wanna know if it has integrated video

edit: you can also try booting with 1 stick of memory to rule them out as well.
Here's a nice thread that covers some of what we've gone through

There are links to the images and the motherboard.
I tried to attach an over view image as well as one showing each of the power connectors that were mentioned. And one with the replaced RAM.

Woah was not expecting a huge cooler on a small board lol!
It looks like the ram isn't fully in yet. make sure it's aligned then push down hard until the two black tabs click and snap together.

Great spotting. I've pushed it in properly now. Still no luck with the screen though.
I went back to the GPU and other connectors but couldn't manage to push any of those ones in further.

You've been a great help. Thanks a lot.

Darn.
I guess just like the ram make sure the gpu tab is also locked
http://www.asrock.com/support/faq/081-06.jpg On yours the white flap is black just make sure you push down (on the card) and the tab comes up before you screw the card down.
Then give it one more shot

If not, do you happen to have a vga monitor? You can try plugging into the mobo with the gpu removed to see if it'll display. that would the next thing i'd try before the tech comes

GL!

Thanks for all the help mates. Took it to a technician today and he identified that the CPU pins had been bent very slightly out of shape and essentially I just had to push the CPU in harder than I had.
Seems like a crazy solution considering I had put the lever clamp back down over top of it and then added the fan on top to compress it further. Still, it's working now and I'm not going to argue with his reasoning when he managed to fix it.
