I bought a new Samsung EVO 850 500gb SDD recently to replace my only HDD. I plugged in my SDD and started cloning (using the Samsung clone app) from my HDD. I had both my SDD and HDD plugged in concurrently and running together. So on my first reboot, it still relied on HDD's OS to boot. So I removed the power to my HDD, and now its booting from my SDD.

However when I am at the boot screen, i'm seeing 3 boot options. I also have a "System Reserved" drive (with a letter assigned to it).

My objective is to make sure I am optimizing my SDD. I have since "delete volume", resulting in the "System Reserved" removed. Also, I have right clicked on my HDD (under "My PC") and did a format (unchecked the "Quick Format" option) of that drive. Is there anything else I should do? Is it necessary to have a clean install of windows 10 on my SDD now that my HDD is formatted?

Below is what my drive reads now:

Do you mean the "System Reserved"? I dont mind re-installing a clean version all over again, I just formatted my HDD before i bought the SDD, so theres minimal fuss if necessary.

Its always going to be less of a headache just reinstalling a clean os in a new drive.

Use EasyBCD & EaseUS partition manager.

Windows create important files in the "system reserved" so I'm afraid that if you delete them you'll fuck yourself.
