I have a Thermal take Litepower 750W which has two 26A rails and 610W between the two

I have ordered a GTX 1080 G1 and am wondering if my PSU is sufficient? for either the default or OC settings

Specs:

Intel i7-5820k @ 3.30 GHz
Asrock Extreme3 X99 (socket 2011)
Thermal take Litepower 750W
Kingston 8GB - 1600
Samsung EVO 250 + 512 SSD
1TB Seagate BarraCuda Green

8gb of bargain bin brand ram on that platform is a weird config.
but anyway of course it's enough

Thanks the reply

Just double checked and it's Kingston 8GB 2133, if that's much better :P

What would you recommend as a RAM upgrade on this platform?

Do you know if there would there be room to overclock my CPU? The dual rails are what confuse me.

is that dual channel? im guessing so because i dont know of any 4x2gb ddr4 kits
5820k supports quad-channel which is double the ram speed at same clocks
get a 4x4gb kit to complement that 1080 and you'll be good to go for a long time.
make sure it's no higher than 2133mhz ofc but with quad channel u will be looking at same speeds as 4266mhz dc ddr4 which is afaik as fast as they come, can come in handy for a lot of games. FO4 is the only one that springs to mind atm tho.

all I know is that ddr3 speeds is the thing hurting a lot of older systems sporting older but otherwise only a few % lower ipc cpu's. Not sure if haswell-e has any similar issues even in DC mode since it's ddr4 but why not go for 4 sticks since you can and having more than 8gb would be better anyway. You may even be able to get another kit of 2x4gb and stick them in there but IDK do your research on that, I've never tried running 2x dc kits in qc though I have had some success running 2 separate kits of 2x2gb sticks in dc for a total of 8gb, though there were some major stability issues when any process wanted more than 4gb for itself, and some minor stability issues at >97% memory utilization.

This, however, was ages ago, and with slightly different types of RAM that sported different timings which was a big factor. Chances are you can get away with running another of that exact kingston 2133 2x4gb kit with your current one in qc if you can find it again. That's the cheapest way for you to upgrade.
