Call me retarded but I want a computer that will get high frames (120 area) max settings at 1920*1080 in Star Citizen (if it ever releases)
I know I'm thinking way too far ahead, as I probably won't buy until Cyber Monday 2018. I'm just not sure if Star Citizen will better benefit from more core/threads from Ryzen or higher clocks from intel. What are your thoughts?
The parts listed are what I already have or have already decided on.

Mobo? Considering AsRock X370
CPU? Considering Ryzen 1800X

Case: 750D Airflow
PSU: 750w gold
GPU: 980ti 6gb
RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4
SSD: 128 gb samsung 840
SSD: 500 gb samsung 840
HDD: 1TB Seagate Black
Cooling: H105

So if it came down to ryzen 1800x with x370 mobo or 8700k with z370 mobo you'd go with the 8700k? That combination is currently only 20$ more, though who knows what prices will be in 13 months.

Oh fuck yeah

8700k smokes Ryzen in gaming performance, especially if you have a high hertz monitor

Currently running a 144hz gsynch with a 980ti 6gb gpu...and a 2500k@4.0 lol. which do you think will bottleneck the other? the 980ti or the 8700k?

980ti prob?

8700k will really never be a bottleneck

So I'd sooner have to SLI/upgrade psu (750w gold).

intel has at least 3-4x the ipc of ryzen in games, 10x+ in some applications, it's jut not a competition. ryzen's made in india with poo dust processors are too slow to do anything. Gotta recommend intel all the way. i5-8400 + bclk oc
