Budget: ~1,000 USD
More specific use (what games, what programs): Game is relatively single core intensive, but would need to be able to stream/record fluently as well.
Planned time until purchase: within the next few days
Do you need an Operating System?: do not consider as part of the cost
Do you have any specific preferred components?: Standard needs
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Isn't needed but feel free to include if applicable
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: No peripherals should be included
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Do not include in pricing. USA Bound.

Last time I built my PC it was when the i5-3570k is super relevant. There's all sorts of new CPUs and GPU's currently on the market. I haven't done much research as of late, but I do recall 2x 480's being better than a single 1070 in performance.

I do not care for 4K, more so higher quality frames at HD. I have a 144hz Monitor already and I don't plan on buying a new one for 4K support.

I do not need a DVD drive, and for storage you can just include a 500GB 850 EVO or on par/better.

Mainly looking at what CPU/GPU/PSU/Mobo/RAM to aim for. Case does not need to be apart of the pricing, I can reuse my old one or obtain a cheap one.

Preferably looking for 16GB RAM.

Nothing else I can think of at the moment, I appreciate it boiis ;)

How single core intensive? You're looking for either an i5 or an i7 depending, if it doesn't even utilize more than 2 or so threads an i5 should be fine otherwise i7

No but I would prefer an i7 for it's hyper threading. Looking at something like the i7-7700k or so. Can go over 1K a tad, it's flexible, just a general area. Looking to allocate 300-400 for the CPU/GPU each.

are their prices set yet? If so, can we simply use that in consideration, and how do they fair compared to current gen?

wont know til release, but they're competing with ryzen so the price should be the same as usual so 350-400 for the i7.
it would be worth getting this generation of intel because they added more cores into their i7's from 4 to 6, unlike the other generations when they had no competition and just milked its customers.
probably expect ez OC to 4.8-5.0, only 12 threads tho so it will probably still lose a lil on multitasking etc. against the 1700/1800, but having much higher IPC and 6c/12t is more than enough to game/stream shit anyway.

pricing should be ROUGHLY around that at release.

give/take 5-10%

cfl will destroy ryzen imo

it's going to be nasty cannot wait

That looks hot. I could flex to 1.1k-1.2k for a 400 dollar CPU.

What's ideal for a GFX card for a 1k build?

Probably a 1070?
