Budget: 800$~ AUD
More specific use (what games, what programs): CSGO, Path of Exile, GTA 5 etc
Planned time until purchase: If Coffee Lake is worth waiting for I would probably wait that long at max, if not, ASAP.

What do you have currently?

I got a 4690k, and ddr3 8gb ram. motherboard needs replacing but I was planning on upgrading in a year or so anyway. So figured I would just do it now instead of replacing a motherboard

Alright. You should be able to sell those parts pretty easily.
What cpu cooler do you have? Will you be overclocking?

I got a hyper 212 evo, I probably will overclock, Though even if I don't I would probably want to have it as an option later on

Looking to get 16gb of ram. So either 2x8gb now or 2x 4gb now and 2x 4gb at another time

Well Coffee Lake gonna gain additional 2cores which I think is worth waiting for. Shouldn't really increase the price much if any at all.
I'm personally waiting for the Coffee Lake.
