why shouldn't they? I mean this build is for mr. amd-must-die himself, op's friend who wanted a locked kaby lake i7 because ryzen is trash but overclocking is too hard and anything less than an 80+ gold psu for maximal efficiency would be insufficient to drive his beast rig
anything other than saying what he wants to hear is going to be wholly unproductive, as proven in the other thread.
and the fact remains the 6700k runs cooler and is therefore a better ocer than the 7700k unless you delid the latter chip, regardless of how good your cooling is the thermal bottleneck is between the ihs and die in kaby lake. I can't see why someone would choose the 7700k over the 6700k unless they were planning to delid or run them at stock speeds for some reason. The performance at the same clocks is well documented, there is no difference between the two. 'being last gen' is a phrase that carries no weight.
