Price range 400 to 600ish

Non gaming

Use for regular office work + able to watch videos
Windows 8 or higher

I bought a refurbished Acer for around $250 or so with a 15.4" screen, this was 3-4 years ago, still using it today, great for videos work etc, I'll try find the model when I get home

but yes thats a pretty good value, 940mx falls inbetween 940m and 950m, drop those settings and good to go
better than integrated at least

All U versions has 2core/4threads. i3-i7 that's common knowledge.
I don't see him taking advantage of HQ quadcore models with office pack and browsing :)

wouldnt it be better to just go without a dedicated gpu entirely? it's going to drain the battery life by its mere presence compared to an igpu

It will only be used in application choose in nvidia settings otherwise the HD620 will be used.
