I want to buy a new PC but don't want it to take a lot of space (live in a 1 bedroom condo). I have been browsing newegg for all in ones and there seems to be plenty of them that seem like they'll do the job, however most of them don't have any reviews. Anyone have any personal experience, or can tell me what to buy or what not to buy? Are all in ones garbage? Obviously they don't compare to a traditional tower, but i don't expect it to. I'm not a techie, just have a specific need and want to play some MMORPGs, so it would need to have some power. Willing to spend up to 1-1.2k (somewhat flexible, but would rather stay under 1k). Any suggestions?

Pretty much all of them comes with some really lowend integrated GPU like HD 520, 530, 620 and 630. So for gaming your MMORPG's this would not be an optional option.

I would get an higher end NUC with a pretty neat monitor.
- You can just use some doublesided tape to put it behind the monitor or under your table.

NUC - HD IRIS 580, 4cores/8threads.

If you feel alright with a slighty larger PC. You could get a proper gaming machine in a small form factor.
GTX 1060 is quite a lot better performance wise compared to any integrated HD Graphics.

Ryzen does not have any proper ITX boards currently.

Wow, i like this! This would work fine. I don't actually have a computer desk so the area is very small and confined, but this would fit. Only issue i have with it is the 250ssd isn't a lot of space. Also is the ram and ssd an easy install? I am low tech, relative to this subforum. Dude thanks a lot for this info, I may go with this. Cost is totally within my range especially if it can run new games for the next couple years.

edit: to your last post, the problem is the very limited space i have to store anything. Just need something that is very compact. I am currently playing off my dining room table, but I am going to get a small work desk.

Yeah they are very user friendly to install. Made for home users to easily click them in.
How about 512gb? I see it actually supports nvme so I would go for 600p over an evo 850.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01K375CDY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494701627&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=600p&dpPl=1&dpID=418AohPahRL&ref=plSrch

If 512gb aren't enough in the future as well it has an additional m.2 for more storage.
Still this is not for AAA titles at high graphical settings. The GTX and Radeon cards are quite a lot more powerful.
But the hd580 in this one is a lot better than the hd520-630 I saw in all the all in ones.

I dont need highest gfx settings, but i do want to be able to comfortably run any mmo, even if at medium gfx. is there a more powerful NUC? I saw one as a related product on that same link that was 1100, but that would be way over my budget with the extras i would need.

The one costing 1100 is with pre installed ram and ssd. So not more powerful.
It is the most powerful nuc. Next step would be dedicated gpu and desktop CPU's which would be a regular size format factor PC.

Yeah but a micro/mini might work.

Well i'm home now and see you already posted a solid mini build zwix.
Was on phone and guess I missed the post.

Op needs to decide between the NUC and the mini although he can get a different case that might fit
his size needs better but over all he doesn't have any options outside the 2 unless he feels like wall mounting.

Theres is several mini cases you can choose from op so if thats to large theres others that are more cube like.
Roughly 9 inches cubed to be more exact. That ones 14 x 13 x 3.5.

@op You choices is NUC for size or mini for Power. The mini is FAR supior for gaming though and you really
really should considering it. Eveen if building it is the main deterrent.

i am considering the mini, to be honest. does that setup on part picker come with OS? is there anything i still need to buy or is that rdy to go?

is there a clear side panel or lit case option in mini size that would suit all the same parts?
