I'm having trouble deciding which 144hz monitor to buy:

Asus VG248QE or the Acer XF240H

I would be mainly playing CS:GO

My buddy has the ASUS and was told it would be the better buy but Acer XF240H has "FreeSync" (not exactly sure how it works)

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks

The Acer one is better. That asus panel is old and color is blend compared to the Acer. Plus XF240H is 50$ cheaper

It won't have any effect. You just won't be able to use the feature as you would need an AMD card.
For nvidias sync technology you would need an monitor with gsync.

Read reviews on both.
I personally use a 144hz 1440p gsync monitor from asus. So it's not because I favorite acer as a brand over asus.

I had the Asus you listed and a benq and even a 27in acer
Their colors come nothing close to this dell one
