Not sure what my budget will be but I would love to see some amazing builds and maybe I'll pick one. Let's see a couple options. Maybe $1000 to $1600.

Budget: 1k-1.6k
More specific use (what games, what programs): Nothing that'll push it to it's limits. Mostly multiple browsers up and older games like private WoW servers / CS:GO. Maybe if any new games come out that I am interested in, which is why the budget is higher. My computer handles everything I use now. But I plan on giving it to my wife for her work.
Planned time until purchase: No idea, a month or two? Just want to see some builds right now.
Do you need an Operating System?: Nah I can get one.
Do you have any specific preferred components?: I was thinking maybe going with intel now since I used AMD so long. I would like an NVMe card but not required if it kills the budget. Can always use my SSD until I have more money for an NVMe. So the Mobo must have support for NVMe.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Probably not. I hate wireless and I am not sure if I will get any boost from a sound card.
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock cooling is fine, not planning on OC to some extreme. Maybe get like an EVO cooler.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Nah
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 60187 (microcenter within 30 mins)

Lemme see some stuff guys! :) If there's something that'll blow out a machine in my price range for 300-400 more then let's see that too!

Probably go with at least 16GB RAM.

I like it but won't a 1080 be better in my case?

If I can do another 100 a 1080 I can buy, right?

E: Also I've been told a lot of mobos don't support NVMe even with an M2 socket. So it has to support it.

EE: Also there were some pretty rocking Asrock mobo's that looked very promising. They were only like $120-130 for a decent one.

Most if not all z270 motherboards support nvme.
The other manufacturers also have motherboards in this price class, stay clear from Asrock.
You are on 1080p monitor?
If so you would not even be able to take full advantage of a 1070.
You would not be able to take advantage of a nvme ssd speeds either, your windows and games will not load faster.

So what monitor will I need? I run dual monitors. One of them is really old and crappy, the other is newer with 2MS response time. Not sure on the max resolution of that one. I'd probably buy at least one new monitor too, so that I can give my wife my old one or two.

Well depends on what you wanna spend.
2ms is probably a regular 1080p 60hz monitor. Today pretty much all tn panels are 1ms and ips 4-8ms.

Selling points for csgo and gaming overall
144hz > 1440p > Gsync/async > IPS. If TN preferable true 8bit.

I personally use 144hz, 1440p, gsync, 8bit TN as main monitor. And 2x 1200p IPS as secondaries.
For me the color etc is just as aesthetics pleasing on the main monitor. But if you are an editing artist would see the IPS as more of a true reproduktion of true color.

Wow, those seem pricey for a monitor. Are there any in the 150-250 range?

XD

E: Derp I just saw the one that's 199 :P
