the chipset is designed for z170 series. i've read you could use a z270 series, but you will have to mess with the bios.
unless there's something super specific you need the Z270 for, there are quite a few Z170's to choose from
i have the same cpu i'm working into a build as well. i'll likely go for the ASUS Z170-A
