Alright friends, I am starting this thread to put together a few ideas for a performance monster and I just wanted a few different opinions.
Here are my thoughts insofar. ( assuming a no budget situation, I have learned to work from the top down with these builds)

Mobo:
I honestly haven't done the research I need to do here. Help!

CPU:
Intel 7700k
Ryzen 1700

GPU:
Gtx 1080
Titan x
1080 ti
Vega ( we will have to wait for independent testing on the last 2)

RAM:
Would be looking for ~ 32 GB? (I would like to dedicate a few gigs to use as a ram drive)
I also need to do research on what configuration will be best

Case:
I need suggestions here

Ssd/hdd : I think i can manage throwing drives in my machine just fine

Cooling: any helpful suggestions here would be greatly appreciated

I'm waiting to see the numbers, everyone is going to tell you to do the same

tomorrow we should get to know what ryzen is really about

Whys that

1080ti is already cheaper and better then the titan X so yeah idk what your waiting for tbh.
idk if worth waiting on vega, ryzen sounds good but if your just gaming eh.
mobo really depends on if your over clocking or not as it starts with chipset.
You don't want a ram drive trust me on this. 16 gb with be fine.
Case depends on mobo / cooling.

nda is lifted on all reviews Ill be looking at them all day to make sure there is consistencies cuz fx8120 and fx 8350 were little off at many places

Could you give me a few of the specific problems you have ran into when setting up/ using a ram drive? Even setting up a small one and installing my internet browsers to it seems pretty beneficial

I want to be able to install a copy of 64x Linux so I can run the ITASSER protein modeling suite on it ( don't know if consumer hardware can handle this yet)

And I would also have to have a copy of windows o there as well for a pretty UI when I want to play all of the video games.
