I have such a nice monitor, but now my GPU feels very dated because of it (and is dated regardless). May be soon time for an upgrade, I have an old GTX 750ti
Since i'm on a budget I can't go out and blow tons for a GTX 1080, I have an intel i5 too. Do you think the GTX 1060 6GB model is a good upgrade, or get away with the cheaper GTX 1060 3GB? $100 difference on Newegg.

this is pretty important.
you kind of have two choices..
if 1080p - either rx 480 8gb or gtx 1070, if its gysnc, i guess get a 1060 6gb.. if you have to... 1070 much better and worth the price.
if 1440p - either 1070 or 1080, (if freesync monitor, wait for vega or get a 480 i guess?)

simply put amd shit! get what you can afford for nvida 1050 Ti ,1060 or 1070 or 1080. i would recommend a 1060 or 1070.

also g sync monitor are awesome but fucking taxed price not worth in less you really have 500 laying around'

i my self have a Gtx 1070 i'm playing witcher 3 at ultra max settings hair works on everything! high res pack the works and im getting 58 fps minimum.

best advise i give any one making a PC don't SKIMP on the #1 CPU(duh)/GPU(and Duh) , #2 PSU( nice 600-750 is all you need in less your a sli/cross fire dumb ass) /SSD(for the main hard drive for master speed get a hdd for storage) #3 better then stock cpu coolers get a hyper 212 heat sink and some atric silver 5 thermal paste! imo most imp parts.
other smaller tips 8-16 GB ram is key! Don't spend a lot on a case, in less you have extra money

$155 rx 480 4GB after a $20 MIR

In terms of frames per dollar spent dollar this will definently, be your best investment, that extra GB of vram over the 1060 3gb may not be a big difference now. But games use more and more ridiculously large and textures as time goes on stressing out that memory.
