So I play Overwatch 95% of the time as far as what games I play. I have a 144hz monitor so I want to have stable 144+ fps.

I haven't upgraded my PC in a very long time except my graphics card which I got a new one for christmas.

What would I need to upgrade to actually increase my fps consistency, I would eventually like to stream at 144+fps stable too.

here are my specs:

My guess would be upgrading my processor to a newer one, but maybe new RAM/Mobo combo would be better? I'd like some opinions. Also which ones to purchase.

The gpu should be good enough for 1080p ultra 150+ fps tho.

- can you check cpu and gpu usage while streaming overwatch? Overclocking might be fine. Then you can put money aside and see how the upcoming ryzen performers.

And you are talking about processor or mobo/ram upgrade. You would pretty much need to upgrade all three things at once. Like if you want a kaby lake or skylake you would need a 1151socket mobo to use it and ddr4 ram aswell.

I read 144 as 1440,

But, I still think he limited himself with the card, seeing how he just bought it recently and is looking to spend more, could've spent the money on that and ran 144 imo

I didn't really choose the 1060. I had said I wanted a new card, so my brother told my mom what to get me, and she probably didnt want to spend that much.

is a 1060 really that bad?

If it's something you received as a gift hell no it isn't bad. Your upgrade would be the CPU in my mind though the problem is ram and motherboard as well

yeah it is quite annoying. I just haven't upgraded in so long I have to upgrade it all. I'm selling all my csgo items, already have 300$. another 200$ coming soon, but 500$ still isn't enough rip. might have to wait til I save up more I guess.
