Considering buying the Vive from steam. Honestly just trying to get an estimated cost to build a machine to run upcoming games on it smoothly.
Does anyone have any insight on this?? Don't know much at all about building. Thank you.

About 600 dollars at the min side.
You'll want something like an i3 and an rx 470/480 or a gtx 1060 for VR.
A little more ideal would be an i5 and 1070, but it wouldn't be necessary to have a really good vr experience (currently).

edit: I have built and tested several PCs in my schools up and coming vr lab (they have no computers, but a ton of headsets :) ) and my experience with the above recommendations has been good.

Excellent man I appreciate that, I'm gonna see what I can put together tonight and post it here. Maybe I'll find some kind of cyber monday deal if I get home with enough time to shop.

Right now newegg has a 470 for 145 after rebate, which is a really good deal compared to recent pricing. I've seen some 1070s for around 320 which is also really nice. (but the 470 comes with hitman game, the newest one).

also some ssds are kinda on sale. in any event, I havent seen any amazing deals for cyber monday. just pretty good ones that you won't be hurting very much if you miss, as there are usually some decent deals on some piece of hardware somewhere at any time of the year :)

edit: i look at prices of pc hardware every single day, so i am also coming from a place of experience on that as well :)
