I just got this monitor ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor

and i use AMD my graphic card is AMD Radeon TM R9 380 series, i set it at 130hz it will not let me get to 144hz can some help.

Known issue on various cards some claim its usually the gpu port.
I would try display port if your not or a dual link DVI

also check this..

Display settings -> Advanced settings -> display adapter settings -> Monitor -> screen refresh rate

then change ports as stated.

also check CCC settings
