it started off a long time ago as a budget build and i've slowly piecemealed upgrades into it every other year or so to keep the performance acceptable for my specific needs. it's about that time again, and with black friday here, i'd like to pick up a few specific upgrades; i don't have a fixed budget, but i'd prefer to pick sufficient parts with best price/performance ratio.

specifically, i'd like to upgrade:

my shitty power supply. it works for what i have, but i plan to put it into a pc for my mom, so i might as well upgrade while i'm at it. i'd like something that will presumably handle my next upgrade for cpu/gpu/3 monitors.

ram to reliable 16gb recommendation

baby's first ssd. minimum of 500 gb storage required, something solid.

bonus: sexy case recommendations appreciated.

---

if you see anything else glaringly bad about my build (besides the non-k cpu), let me know; i might consider other upgrades. the most strenuous work i plan to put on my pc is streaming battlefield 1 at 50fps/2400 bitrate, low settings.

e:/ put current case in build if it matters

ty for input your dong is surely enormous.

one small detail, the ssd seems to have already sold out. should i hold out for another deal later in the day?

also, is the difference in 50w between my current power supply and your suggested power supply enough of a differential to reasonably compensate for a large future upgrade?
