So swapping my r7 for my homies 960 with water cooling. I got my 32Gs of ram already.
Main things I'm swapping are
Mobo
And CPU
I am not going intel
So if anyone has some time to check there deals and throw me some info I would appreciate it
AMD obv
Looking for a 990 mobo
And a good CPU to match

I have around a 300$ budget right now
Which once you see the deals you'll understand
They have 990s for like 100-130$

As I told you by PM. Amd is only for heavy work like rendering on a low budget. It's truely horrible for gaming with that low ipc.

Maybe Haswell with z97. But this z170 can run with ddr3 ram http://pcpartpicker.com/list/s7ZnVn

Intel is on 6th gen right now.

The 3570k I used in the link above is what I bought 3 years ago btw. Still running strong. Better off looking at Craigslist and getting a mobo/cpu that's a 4670k

you're not saving money by going AMD lol,
fx series competed with intel's 2nd gen.
outdated/discontinued products = $$$$, 6th gen mobo's are 100-130 and 990 5+ yr old mobos are 100-130. <---- wasting money.
that's our advice, but if u wanna be illogical and prefer to fanboy instead, wait til zen instead of wasting money on a 5+ yr old tech upgrade.

I got NOTHING against AMD, i would love to have the upcoming AMD Zen in my system if the performance rumors is true.

a 6600k + z170 is about 320$. and with the discounts coming up you should be able to grab it for under 300$

a 6600k and fx-9590 is about the same price point. But both overclocked the 6600k has 58%!!! better performance per single core.
Most games uses 1-2 cores.

Its 6% faster multicore tho. because of 8cores over 4cores. BUT that wouldn't be effective at all for gaming. Which i guess this PC will be mainly used for?

The 6600k is about 220$ and motherboard 100-120$. Black friday is in 6 days where you might be able to get it all for under 300$
