Hey D2JSP Community, sitting on a computer that's a few years old and needs some upgrades, what would you all suggest?

Just a heads up, I'm not super tech savvy. This computer was originally built by professionals. Let me know If you need more information ^_^

Budget: Aprox 1,100 USD / 1k Euro

The goal with my build is to be able to play the most up to date games on the highest graphics with a steady 60(+) FPS

I'm currently running;
Dual (Crappy) Monitors
Windows 10 Pro (64Bit derp)
Asus P9X79 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-3820 CPU (3.6GHz) (Quad Core with 8threads)
16GB Ram
2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
650W Power Supply Unit
Stock Fan for CPU + Two Fans for the casing (Do these have any special names? External fans?)
I've only noticed overheating once with my CPU (fans started revving pretty high) so I did a standard clean out with pressured air + replacing the cooling pasta for the CPU, this was aproximitely a year ago.

Would it be enough to upgrade my Graphics Card to a GTX 1070 + a new monitor for gaming use, would my PSU handle it? Should I run double graphics cards, having my current 680 dedicated to only my monitors for example, or just salvage the 680? Should I look into water cooling or would that require a whole new chassi?

Thanks to every one who takes their time. :)

gtx 1070 and or monitors.

A 680 is about 1/3rd the power of a 1070 plus yours is a 2gb model so sli is a bad idea.
since getting a 4gb model to sli would only yield 2gb as its limited by other gpu.
Sli'd video cards get a return of about 1.5 performance, I recently made a similar switch to a 1070 to replace my 4gb model.

So long as your cleaning your pc after market cooling is not needed for stock speeds.
If you plan to oc then get an after market cooler and a few case fans.

You will not need a new psu for a 1070.

Thanks a lot for the reply, Arthur. I was thinking the same thing with the graphics card there.. Better that I upgrade our guest computer with it instead. :)
And I clean my PC about once every 4-6months I only recently started redoing the cooling paste, unsure of how often one should do this?

I wouldn't worry about re-applying the paste, Unless your temps start rising for no reason.
