My wife teaches High school English.
She needs a laptop for Word/PowerPoint that has Ethernet and HDMI.
Windows.
Supports photoshop

Really nothing special.

Just wondering if you guys knew of any really good deals and if I should wait until black Friday or something.

Portability and perhaps battery will be key.

Zip: 48170

Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 700 $479.99

Pick up an HDMI to Micro HDMI adapter along with a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter and you're good to go.

I still consider 4.84 lbs and 15.4" portable.

If you want longer life time battery and more portable look into Asus Zenbook's.
Something like i5 and 8GB Ram for about 800$.

Not really depends what shes doing, and as an english teacher I doubt the work load is going to be intense.
One of my best friends uses a netbook to run photo shop for his tattoo work.
Mind you its cs2 but it gets the job done as he's not doing large images.

To clarify-

The cheaper the better of course.

And Photoshop would probably just be for creating handouts that actually look good. It wouldn't be for extreme editing

Then the first one suggested will work just fine.

It's not fast or pretty but it will do the job.
Can't really go cheaper though, kinda the low end at that point.
anything less is usually a chrome book and stay the fuck away from those.

Thanks a lot.
Yea can't do Chromebook as she will need some memory.

Question about photoshop-
Is the only way to get it for real to fork over the full amount or do they sell like truncated versions? Perhaps there are other programs that would just do what she needs instead- like a notepad ++ for paint

Bc she doesn't need intense photoshopping.
She just wants to create very professional looking handouts for students.

Guys- I really appreciate your help!
