Sorry in advanced for what may come off as silly questions, I have a hard time making decisions.

Have narrowed down laptop for what I am after and wondering if extra costs make it worthwhile to get the expensive version.

Looking for something that will be able to perform for ~5 years without a rush to replace it. I don't need overkill, but would rather shell out the money now than replace it 2 years earlier if that makes sense.

Main differences I am looking for help is between:

960 vs 1060
2gb vs 4gb vs 6gb - Memory on GPU

Expensive

A) https://www.amazon.com/Asus-GL702VM-DB74-G-SYNC-Gaming-i7-6700HQ/dp/B01KB0W4R0/ref=pd_sbs_147_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=EB3QN7WTK3V67J9FMRQN&th=1

Budget

B)https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015ZG9964/ref=psdc_13896615011_t1_B01KB0W4R0?th=1

Is the expensive option worth the extra $200-400 (depending on SSD) and will it outlast budget by a long time or will they be relatively obsolete around the same time?

Anyone have any history with ASUS machines or these in general would be great!

(Also chose Amazon due to giftcards  )

Budget: 1000-1500 (depends what makes sense, don't need overkill)
More specific use (what games, what programs): WoW, LoL, newer FPS, started school doing networking, we are running virtual machines (not sure the extent yet of what will be needed for power here?)
Planned time until purchase: ASAP
Do you have any specific preferred components?: No
Do you need a bigger monitor? mouse? full keyboard?: No.
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): USA/Canada

MSI > Asus?

Must be amazon as I have gift cards to help negate some cost.

As a "casual" will the 1060 be that much more noticeable?
Mostly looking at cost efftiveness vs life expectancy - I'll spend if it'll go the distance
