Hello . I have a 2year old bearbone desk top from tiger .... recently it has been shutting down on me just powering off . from 1 min to 1 hour . what could it be please any one might offer some advice ? thanks

try changing psu.

yup did that . didn't know if maybe it would be my hd or power supply . and hoping it isn't the ram , processor . know what I mean

Ram would likely bsod, it would not completely loose power like that.

Check powerbar/outlet/cable also.

Personally I'd disassemble then rebuild to ensure no shorts in the case.
Then see if it persists,if so we test hardware.

Temps can also cause it to just shut off.

indeed though when dissembling I'm sure he has to clean it,.
I just assume people check temps before seeking help.

if your case is dusty, try dusting it including inside the power supply. it is not unheard of that dust build up in psu can cause it to power down.

More or less this. PSU is prolly over heating.

ever see smoke or smell anything funny when it does power down?

He stated he changed the psu.
Unless his cpu's is getting to like 90/100 or w/e the bios shuts down at it should not just be shutting off.
