Hi there! I currently have a 3ish year old gaming computer that I initially built for DotA 2, L4D, The Sims 3, etc. It did the job and was ok. What I noticed for The Sims 3 though was when I had all the EPs, it would still chug on max performance. Hoping you can recommend decent upgrades to what I have.

CPU: Intel i5 3570k @ 3.40Ghz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: MSI 560Ti
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB + WD External 1TB

Is there anything that sticks out? I really just want to have a smooth gaming experience with games TS3, Don't Starve, Project Zomboid. All aren't demanding games.

Appreciate the time! :-)

The 3570k is still strong. 8GB RAM is pretty viable for gaming.

The 560ti change to like a GTX 1060 or something similar. depending on your budget.

Whats your motherboard and cpu cooler?

Ahh forgot about mobo! It's MSI Intel Z77A-GD55. Also stock cooling from cpu & case.

Would GTX 1060 be a bit much for the games I listed?

Really depends on multiple things.
Sims 3 on max settings can be fairly demanding.
Something like a used gtx 960 would do tho.
1060 is currently the lowest in the latest generation. A gtx 560ti back in the days would be considered a bit higher end than a gtx 1060 today.

What is your budget?

Ugh it's not sims 4.
Well your current pc should max out all those games easily?

But used gtx 960 for about 100-120$
If you are not interested in used a rx 470 could be the answer

Used 970 or a 1060 imo.
Otherwise you're probably going to want to buy a new gfx card soon again.

If you don't mind waiting gtx 1050/ti's are just around the corner, possibly in a couple weeks.
