• Budget: $1500
• More specific use (what games, what programs): Overwatch, WoW. Misc animating programs, possible engineering programs and Maya
• Planned time until purchase:2 weeks
• Do you need an Operating System?: yes
• Do you have any specific preferred components?:
• Do you need a wireless card?:no
• Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock cooler is fine, he has no will to overclock
• Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:no

TL:DR he games on a 60 hz 1080P monitor and needs it for occasional productivity. His budget is insane overkill what do.

he literally won't let me OC a damn thing on the computer

so might as well get a non K CPU without a cooler and an H mobo and save some money.

a 6700 and a 1070. take the extra saved $200 and make him get a 144hz 1080P monitor to join the gaming master race?

i'd still go k version and after market cooler with that budget
k version, mind might change on overclocking resell value, and longer lifespan
after market, mind might change and to keep system cooler

Talked him into overclocking

found out hes going to be doing tons of rendering so the 6700K is a must.

Feel free to tweak around a bit.
