I'll throw a some fg to any used or particularly helpful information

Something has been bottlenecking my 980TI, not sure what it is. As my FX8350, the cheap ASRock mobo, and by far my ram (Was also cheap 2x4gb and oldest by far (4years), are the three oldest components so I figure I'll start there.

Looking for recommendations on best bang for buck Cpu/Mobo combo (Intel this time). The memory I'll be fine finding a decent 16gb set for the mobo supporting the new slot.

Cpu/Mobo budget can go up to $1000 if really worth it for fps, But trying to stick to $400-$600.

Any help would be appreciated, especially for instance, if some new intel is coming out soon that will drop the prices of the former. If that's the case I'll wait.

Thanks!

what games are you getting bottle necked? 6600k / any z170 that tickles your fancy / 16GB DDR4 memory, one of these lads will link you up with fanboy options shortly if you aren't inclined to pick yourself.

while you're at it, how old is power supply and what brand/model is it?

Your cpu is really weak and is your bottleneck.

6600k/any ram/any z170

If you want an actual build,

6600k is plenty tho.

Having trouble picking a z170. Don't really want to cheap out on the base since I don't have to. They have so many models it is ridiculous! Also found out I'll need a PSU for this since I decided to sell my old cpu using extra parts.
