hi i need help upgrading this pc decided to scrap my big budget build and make 1 later

budget: 300-500$ usd

First glance I would say 2 more sticks of ram, an ssd, and a new GPU.

Then just overclock the 2500K


/e Guess you could do this too, but I never liked 4 sticks of RAM on a dual channel board. Make sure they can GET the RAM.

should i change and get a new mobo nothing fancy but prob 70-100$ mobo

Naaah the MSI Z77A-G45 is fine.
Get an 250GB SSD for 60-85$ depends on the brand/quality
a GTX 1060 299$ or a RX 480 249$

And overclock the CPU to 60-70c max load. probably gonna be about 4.2-4.4GHz

New z77's probably gonna be more than 100$. 150$+ Its kinda legacy by now

at this point i think i should just put in 800-900 usd and build a solid 1080p gaming rig

i5 6600k radeon 480 z170 mobo ssd 16gb ddr4 ram and ill take my psu case from old rig and reuse them

Your build is fine.

Change your GPU, and grab a 250 SSD. You can upgrade to 16GB of RAM if you want.
