i7-6700k doesn't come with any and the only option i have available to me is Startech thermal paste. See most people saying arctic silver, will it make that much of a difference or can i just got buy this startech stuff.

You can use the Startech stuff if you can't wait.

Did you just buy a CPU...no 3rd party cooler? The thermal compound usually comes ON or with the CPU cooler.

never heard of that brand, but as long as it has a few reviews RI validate that it's going to last you atleast half a year then I'd say go for it. the objective is to put a barrier between the cpu lid and the heatsink, transferring heat.

things are simple when it comes to paste.

I use arctic silver 5 with a cooler master cooler and my temps stay pretty good



Linus has a video where he compares a few of them, its kind of old but it shows a pretty decent gap in between generic stuff and higher end

Funny part is...he also bought a Corsair H00i...and soon found the TC. :)

Nah I just had dead by daylight open in the background. It doesn't go up much when I'm actually in a match and stuff tho
