So I purchased G Skill Trident Z RAM and one of the sticks were faulty but the good stick I had I inserted into 3rd slot into mobo and the computer wouldnt show any screen. I insert it in first slot and it works fine. So I took ram back and they said it was faulty and currently are sending me anither one. It had me worried that my motherboard could also be broken or faulty because the stick wasnt working inside of the 3rd slot. There any reason why this wouldnt work?

There has to be a RAM stick in the 2nd slot counting away from the CPU, for one stick operation.

You can also do it in the first slot, but the 2nd slot is better.

/e The 3rd and 4th slots are for dual channel...aka 2 sticks

Normal 2 stick operation is 2nd & 4th slots or 1st & 3rd slots.

For 1 stick operation it should be either slot 2 or slot 1.

All these as counting away from the CPU.

How about the CPU?

You realize that Speccy is safe? Here's mine so you can see what we mean when we ask for a Speccy screenshot...

Don't be amazed at my temps..it's just AMD's weird way of dealing with core temps. :/
