Hello all,

This is my current build. It's about 2 years old. I want to start making some upgrades, what should I upgrade first? I have about $500 to spend on upgrades.

Get a GTX 1070, then when you have more money, upgrade the rest.

Or you could get an SSD and a GTX 1060 or an RX 480.

Which route would you recommend? Would a 1070 give me more performance than a 1060 and a SSD?

SSD just makes for hella fast boot times and fast load times on games. I just suggested the SSD, coz a lot of folks like them.

As for the vid cards...that Anandtech link will let you compare any two vid cards.

In the long run, I would get the 1070, because the 1060 can't be SLI'd so it is kind of a dead end card.

If you are gaming at 1080p, the 1060 or a 470/480 will be a good option.
Definitely get an SSD :)
If you can afford it, you can get a 1070 as well, but i wouldn't not get an ssd. night and day difference from 7200rpm.

I got the 1060 because I'll be building a new computer all together when the new zen chip comes out.

@ OP I would get the 1070 and the SSD if you can manage it.
