dont waste money on old processor that fits old mobo's.
Just save more for CPU/mobo/ram upgrade next, or just use that $200 and get a SSD if you need it

It should be OK, assuming the power supply is of good quality.

Question. I would need a new adapter for my new graphics card right? I believe i found the right info stating the 6450 is not 6 pin and the 470 is. So i need to just buy a 6 pin cord? Or? Would i be able to put the 6 pin cord to my motherboard?

The power supply should have a 6 pin PCI-E power cord.

Do you know the make/model of the power supply?

It should have a 6+2 cable on your power supply, so plug in the 6 pin and there will be 2 extra pins off the side. Or is the power supply modular? I assumed not

Well, if your power supply doesn't have a 6 or 6+2 pin...get this one...

If your power supply is modular, the 6+2 pin may be...I dunno...still in the box it came in. :)

/e FYI, the 6+2 pin is supposed to go into either the 6 pin or the 8 pin on a vid card.

/ee NO! Do not try to run the vid card without it's 6 pin power lead.
