How many more years until I need to build a new PC?

I don't want to spend now so when is optimal time to build. I wanted to really wait until 4K monitors and everything is the standard and push down market prices but looks like that isn't going to be for a while.

Unless you are having problems, you can wait a while. If there are games you cannot run, you can upgrade just the vid card, now. and do the rest later.
IF you upgrade the vid card now, it will still be useful later, when you upgrade the rest.

This is the fastest non- Titan X card out right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/6shj4D/asus-geforce-gtx-1080-8gb-video-card-rog-strix-gtx1080-8g-gaming

This is the budget version of that card: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/j8rcCJ/asus-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-video-card-rog-strix-gtx1070-o8g-gaming

Here are the benchmarks for these cards, compared to your GTX 680...

GTX 1080: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1719?vs=1714

GTX 1060: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1719?vs=1771

Please note the framerates for the various games at various resolutions.

Really useful info. Thanks Ghot.

When you say a while, how is that determined? Does that simply just depend on me and my satisfaction and desire for frame rates for the games I play?

Also, if you had to choose one way or the other; would you rather upgrade everything at once and keep waiting or upgrade card, then rest of components later?
I'm not sure what people do? Do people usually go card, then components wait few more years and then go card again and the components and keep going or just start from scratch each time? Or is this all personal preference again?

Depends on your budget...this is what I would do, assuming I had the funds...

Thanks for the parts suggestions.

Would I need to go SLI cards if I want to run dual 4k screens?

Also, what about my current SSD? They too slow and better to just sell or do I keep in new rig?

What do you want to do now that your current computer cannot.

Diff only change the gpu and OC the cpu to 4.2-4.5Ghz. You might need a new cooler.

I guess you will only play games on one. Since you only talking about 2 monitors and not 3.
A single gtx 1080 would be sufficient for 60hz 4k gaming. You might have to tweak some settings to run 60fps stable.but still high-ultra settings

3570k should work fine for another couple of years imo

You should however not settle for any gpu less than gtx 1060/rx 480.

If you have decent fps in the games u play, theres no reason to upgrade just yet

This, only thing to consider would be GPU, and for a few hundos it'd be worth it and you likely won't need to touch it for a couple years.
1060 or 480 would be a very nice improvement, depending on what you're doing with your PC specifically.
Considering the fact that you're running 1x monitor @ 1080p / 60hz, you don't need much horsepower to utilize it fully so your current 680 might continue to suit you just fine :)

Are you experiencing issues or are you simply inquiring¿
