Seems about right. Maybe an H board instead of a z board if your friend doesn't plan on swapping to a K cpu

I made a build assuming he plays any competitive FPS game like Counterstrike or Overwatch, where a 144hz 1MS response time monitor results in a huge advantage over a 60hz monitor.

Change Z motherboard to an H because that cpu can't overclock
Change 16gb of ram to 8. 8 is enough For A game, teamspeak a dozen web tabs a bunch of excel and word docs to be open with a few GB to spare.
Changed ssd to adata, Samsung charges a stupid high premium
Change psu to semi modular 430Watt from EVGA. the whole build will draw like 270 watts from the wall so 430 is plenty of headroom.
Got rid of the dual monitors and got one amazing 144hz 1ms one. that will play games like butter and avoid massive screen tearing.

get the h100i asap for $12 if they dont realize it's a price error lol

No point downgrading your build to get a mech keyboard now instead of later.


If you want the monitors and keyboard now, then downgrade to 480 or 1060. I suggest 480 for you though, it's sapphire nitro series for only $369. Decent 1060's are pretty overpriced there @ $500, unless u dont mind the mini versions. Personally i wouldn't pay $500 for low end cards.
