Just purchased a GTX 1080 Asus Strix i7-6700k and Asus Maximus Viii Hero motherboard and my pc is lagging and also having a very bad frame rate. The first day I got my pc it was running 800 frames on league. Then I capped it at 60 then once the lag occurred I swapped to uncapped again and now its running like 120 fps max. Why is this doing this and why is it running so slow? I updated all my drivers and did everything I can.

@OP How bout a Speccy screenshot, since you been messin around with this build for a bit now. Might be nice to know what you finally bought. And as Secksii said, it would be nice to know your temps too.

/e Did you change any game settings in LoL? Did you change any "other" settings in Nvidia Control panel?

Well I just reinstalled everything on my computer and now it is working I suppose.

Might wanna get MSI Afterburner, to set a fan curve for your vid card.

Other than that, it seems you fixed the problem with the reinstall. Just don't do w/e you did last time to mess it up.

/e Since you have a WD hard drive, get the free Acronis True Image backup software from their site. Start making full OS image backups. That way, if anything gets weird, your 5 mins from perfect again. Saves the hassle of reinstalling. Be sure to make the bootable Acronis True Image CD, for those times when Windows won't boot. That way, you'll still be able to access your backups.

Btw seems like you are only running with one stick of Ram right now.

2x 4 gb sticks I'm guessing. In single channel.

this. Double check 1 of your ram is properly seated. You should have 16gb, not 8.
Also, change the ram speed in bios, it's not running @ 3000mhz atm
