So according to what I found searching around on google, you need to have a pretty damn good PC to be able to run HTC Vive or any other VR gaming smoothly.

He wants to know an estimated cost on how much he would have to spend.

Here is what I came up with : http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/V8yhgL

Would someone kindly bring up pros and cons on the parts that I selected VS other parts available on the market?
When it comes to CPU and Graphic cards, there is so many different models that I am lost on what to look for.

Also, I know that cheaping out on the PSU isn't really a good idea, so I selected a 750W. Does running HTC Vive need a lot of additional power? Would 500W be sufficient?

At the moment, we are only looking for the main PC components and will use second hand monitors, keyboard and mouse.

Since he is really only looking for information, the budget is flexible. I would like to see what is possible from 800$ to 1500$ and show him the differences.

Budget: 8000$ - 1500$ CDN
More specific use (what games, what programs): HTC Vive and any VR games
Planned time until purchase: N/A
Do you need an Operating System?: No
Do you have any specific preferred components?: At least GTX 970 or better.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: No
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Ontario, Canada

Thank you for your time!

Best regards.
