Here is my current rig, I've had it for over 3 years. I'll be coming into about $1,200 that I'm willing to spend on either upgrading my pc or for a new one if it comes to that.

Things I want (to achieve):
SSD for my games load screens
Max game settings for any blizzard game. Especially WoW, in major cities.. I'd want max fps
Ability to record my game play for editing/sharing

I don't think so. But with this I'll be able to run all of my games at max no problem? I'm also looking to record my game play without any frame drop... is that possible with this set up?

/e should I overclock?

Yes to overclocking.

Honestly you'd be fine on a i5 and recording.
On 1080p i HIGHLY doubt you'll drop frames on a blizz game

With a 1070 you will be able to play games like Overwatch on epic/ultra settings at ~180 FPS.

Yeah that would max out all the games and still get the 144fps to sync with 144hz monitors.
You even have a 60Hz monitor, when using Vsync, your card would have an easy time.

So yeah this PC is actually a bit overkill for your needs.
Taking the hardware performance increase the past 7 years into considering.
This system would be relevant even 6 years into the future. And at this point your could most likely just put in a new GPU and the system would do fine for more years to come.
BUT! I can't see into the future, this is based on what happened the past 7 years in hardware.

A new i3 6100 skylake

a 5 year old i7 2700k

This can even be overclocked.

Well maybe I'll try out other games that I normally couldn't with previous computers. Or try multiboxing..Always wanted to try that.

Any other advice? I'll have the money in 2 weeks so unless anything changes, hardware wise, or anything then I'm all good to order?

/e I keep reading about coil whine for the gpu. Should I worry about that or can I prevent that from happening?

If you dont want "coil whine" then buy a GPU with the all in one on it.

You can multibox on an i5 fine if you're speaking about diablo 3.
