friend needs help purchasing a laptop using his canadian "money" 800-1000$

Topic Title: Need a Laptop PC
Description: For School / writing
More specific uses: For going to school, writing in both public and outdoors. Needs Battery longevity and be and transportable. Will be traveled with a lot so weight should be a considered factor.
Planned time until purchase: 2-3 weeks
Do you have any specific preferred components?: Nope
Do you need a bigger monitor? mouse? full keyboard?: 13-15.4inch monitor. No mouse

If its just for school and writing.
And its focus is on being transportable.
I would really recommend a zenbook.

It's light, fast and amazing longtivity battery wise
